Governor Lamont Announces Reopening of Residential Renters Assistance Program Amid COVID-19 Pandemic
Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Housing Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno today announced that the State of Connecticut is opening a second round of funding under the Temporary Rental Housing Assistance Program (TRHAP) to applicants seeking assistance with residential rent payments delayed by financial stress related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Additional SNAP benefits coming June 12 for over 108,000 households in Connecticut
The Department of Social Services will be providing $16.3 million in Emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP) benefits to nearly half of Connecticut’s SNAP participants on Friday, June 12, 2020 – adding to the $50.2 million in emergency benefits disbursed in April and May. Read more here.
Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or Act)
The FFCRA requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. Find more information here.
